How many folks are still playing/running 3e?

I'm running 2 3e-ish games at the moment: One is all official books plus Dragon in a homebrew setting with my 12 players split into 2 parties going through the same plot in parallel on different nights; one is a playtest campaign for a 3e variant a friend and I are working on, so it started mostly-RAW 3e and the system has been becoming more and more homebrew as time progresses. All of the other players outside of my group that I know at my college (two dozen or so) are firmly in the 3e camp, and have no intention of trying 4e any time soon--though I've got some of them almost persuaded to try a 1e game sometime.

I am running three games, two are 3.5 and one is pathfinder beta. All have a lot of house rules from various sources (including healing surges from 4e) as well as my own. I will consider anything from the extensive list of sources that I own subject to veto or DM modification.

Player's in my games are currently using stuff from sources like:
Warforged race article in Dragon Magazine.
Shifter race article from Dragon Magazine.
Warlock from crystalkeep.com
Hsiao race from Jade Dragons and Hungry Ghosts
Armor Adept from Deeds Not Words
Elan soulknife and psychic warrior from psionics srd
Beguiler from PH2
Truespeaker from Tome of Magic
Recharge magic from Unearthed Arcana
Spontaneous divine magic from Unearthed Arcana
Cloistered Cleric from Unearthed Arcana
Swashbuckler from Complete Warrior

I am running a 3.5 game as a DM.

Approximately fortnightly, though it can vary depending on scheduling hassles.

We're using the PHBs (I and II), DMGs (I and II), MMs (1-5), Fiend Folio, Libris Mortis, Draconomicon, Lords of Madness, Completes (all), Races (all except Faerun and Eberron), Sandstorm, Stormwrack, Frostburn, Expanded Psionics, Book of Nine Swords, Compendiums (rules, spells, magic items and dragon) and I just bought the Legions of Nine Hells book so it'll be included soon.

We'll be using some modified house-ruled version of the Epic level stuff some day, but we're only level 1 at the moment.

I take inspiration from Book of Exalted Deeds, Deities and Demigods, Book of Vile Darkness, Book of Erotic Fantasy, Manual of the Planes and some of the Alderac Entertainment Group stuff but those books aren't considered canonical.

I also frequently read the 2nd edition books for inspiration but again, not canonical.

It's a homebrew setting.

And the story hour is linked in my signature.

I'm currently playing in a weekly 3.5 game that is due to wrap up soon. When it does, I will be DMing Second Darkness (unless Council of Thieves steals our attention first, when it comes out) for that group using the final Pathfinder rules.

I am DMing a weekly 4E game, but we're in talks of switching that to Pathfinder, but that's not set in stone yet.

We generally allow all books (WotC and third-party) that the players or DM own, with individuals items subject to DM veto. With the release of the Pathfinder RPG, we'll probably stick to core for a little while until we've got the full taste of it, then everything's game again. :)

I'm in a 3.5 game with all sources, subject to DM approval. I was in a second game, but had to drop due to a scheduling conflict with the restart of an old game that my presence was required at. I'm also running a SpyCraft2.0 Stargate game which sadly prevents me from joining the Pathfinder game that just kicked off. When I get a chancce I'll be a running a Pathfinder AP with either FantasyCraft or Pathfinder. If I really get enough time and players I may run one in each system.

We are a group of some ten and are still using 3.5 and are beginning to test PFRPG.

I am running a Paizo Rise of the Runelords campaign at the moment for a group of ten, and am DMing 3.5 Living Arcanis now and then.

I am also a player in the Pathfinder Society campaign.

When running the home Rise of the Runelords campaign, every book is allowed on principle, but I make exceptions based on the flavor I want (E.G. : no warlocks no dragonporn, and no broken rock-people whatever their name)

Gaming with 3.5 has never been so good.

Out of our original group of some 30 Living greyhawk players, ten are with us, six have gone 4e, and the rest have given up gaming.

Thank you all for the awesome replies. I have a pretty decent list of 3pp stuff to check out now. And it is heartening to see that for several folks, the local scene is the same is here. For a moment I was beginning to think that maybe it was just the cities I game in.

love,

My group (theoretically weekly but RL intervenes) still uses 3.5E rules. It's basically any WotC non-setting rulesbook (the DM gets them as well ) though anything out of the ordinary needs my approval.

For the Greyhawk campaign I started recently, I took ninjas, wu jen, etc. (basically anything Oriental inspired) off the accaptable list, basically because the flavour didn't fit the game milieau.

I'm playing in an Age of Worms campaign, a rotating DM campaign of rotating modules and a 1 PC campaign that mainly uses Paizo, Goodman Games and Green Ronin.

I just ran a 3.5 game for the most recent gameday and it is my understanding that just as many 3.XE games take place at the FLGS as 4E, more if you count all earlier editions. We'll have to see how PF does once it gets rolling along more in the Fall. Personally, I play all of them at one time or another, as well as many other RPGs and games in general. I like variety.
