D&D 5E How many goodberries?

They cannot be used to stabilize a creature as the creature has to use its action to eat the goodberry.

How does that compare to a potion? Do potions also say that it takes an action to drink one?

Under potion of healing in the Equipment->Item list it says that it takes an action to drink or administer a potion.

Under Goodberries it says a creature has to use its action to eat the goodberry.

Maybe it has something to do with chewing?
