I never understood putting fish in Subs, even with a good mayonaise it just doesnt work for me. Ham, Turkey and cheese is much better

What volume would you use for the tons listed for ship's capacity in Ghosts of Saltmarsh?

I’d base it on the PHB barrel. Six barrels of liquid or ten barrels of solid items seems about right to me.

Shouldn't a ton in Saltmarsh be the same as a ton along the Sword Coast?

Yet another reason the town is so spooky.

Also, doesn’t tonnage measure displacement?

I would go by PC/UMS net tonnage, which puts a ton at 100 cubic feet, since a 10 foot cube maps easily onto a battlemap. I'm going to presume that the authors of the book only ever had a loose sense of naval tonnage. But really just pick something.
