How useful was the AD&D Core Rules CD?

There was even a downloadable expansion to the Expansion that added The Complete Book of Necromancers, which was one of my favorite 2E sourcebooks.

There still is (in the WotC Electronic Support page). I recently upgraded to a new computer and my CC2 installation was an upgrade. So, I had to install the Core Rules (so the Campaign Mapper was on my computer) and while I was add it, I upgraded it including this book.

I still reference the 2.0 version occasionally. Lots of those 2e books had usable stuff beyond the mechanics, and they're invaluable for rules discussions.

Core Rules was incredible. The ability to add anything at a moment's whim was awesome. It made Etools look like a doorstop. Of course, it's useless if you play 3e, though.
