HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

Aika hides her growing dislike of the loud mouthed CPU, it was rude to call Gun Monkey just Monkey, especially when he hadn't been offered to do so, and Monkey might itself be confused for some kind of put down. There was also no confusing the next part, about being born yesterday, whether he was a mutated human or a smart monkey, either way, it was something that should be offered by gun monkey, not dragged in front of everyone by some loud mouth with all the couth of a rabid wombat.

Aika answers Chip's question in an effort to shift the conversation away from what Gun Monkey might not wish to talk about. "Everyone's body produces energy, Chakra, I am just able to put that energy to use for different things. I think everyone could learn to do it, probably better then I could, I'm not that good at it." she offers humbly. "With sufficient control of Chakra pretty much anything should be possible. A person could focus it into their senses and gain super humanly acute senses, or they could focus it into their legs and increase the distance they can jump, or even use it to affiix yourself to a wall or even water so that you could walk along its surface."

 

[Velmont]

"I... don't know." Gun Monkey says, hesitantly.

"Bah! It doesn't matter anyway. What realy matter, is that nice aim you have." he replies, showing the dart. "When I'll go into mission, I'll be pleased to see you at my side." CPU eyes fall on Gun Monkey's guns. "Nice tools too. Never seen such before."

"To answer your previous question, I've not been always as I am today. I was pretty much as your doctors and escorts you've met. Since a few months now, I've gained some new abilities that I didn't had before. Mainly, controlling machine and electricity. That kind of power isn't common. The chance are high that I'm the only one with such power for now." The pinball next to him starts to flash. his first ball has fallen into the hole. The score shown is 1 250 750. CPU's show only 348 750. "I'll have to practice more if I want to beat that machine someday."

 

[Bront]

Gun Monkey looks at Aika "You mean you can't do that normaly?"

Looking somewhat more comfortable, Gun Monkey goes into an electrical engineers' discussion about the functions of his pistols that easily go well beyond what most of you comprehend.

"Or, at least that's what I was taught. They were poorly designed, as you can tell, and I redesigned them."

Cpu listens to Gun Monkey's explanantion. "Pretty smart from them to have done it. But I would not have done exactly like that. I would have rather..." CPU give some suggetion on the design. "But what modification have you done to them?"

"Yes, but then you need to compensate for..." and Gun Monkey goes on, and on. "But I have done a few of those things."

"Basicly, they have several different ways to process energy, and work with several different functions."

Aika smiles faintly at Gun Monkey's question, "The vast majority of people cannot, they simply do not harness their chakra, they might be able to if they tried. The normal state of mobility for humans isn't very. The ability to walk on walls is limited to imaginary heros, or it was before the comet. The ability to walk on water is so rare that it is a religious miracle in some places."

Gun Monkey thinks on that a second and nods. "Yes, that makes sense. It explains a lot actualy."

While he talks, Gun Monkey picks up some darts with his feet and begins to throw them at the dart board, while looking at Aika, Chip and CPU. He hits the bullseye with the first dart, and each successive dart hits the back of the first dart, till there are 5 in a row, and they fall out of the dart board under the weight.

"Wow, that's pretty cool," Chip says, genuinely interested even if he isn't following most of her explanation. "So, you think you could teach someone else how to Chak...er...thing? How sweet would it be to see an eight ton T-Rex walking on water?"

Chip also tries to follow the discussion of Gun Monkey's weapons, but soon realizes that he's way out of his depth. Maybe some other time he can have one of them make him something cool.

"If you can already shift your form then I do not see that it should be such a difficult thing for you to learn as changing one's appearance with chakra is a small thing compared to changing everything about yourself." Aika answers Chip reassuringly. She brings the index and middle fingers of her right hand to her lips, concentrates for a moment, and Chip's mirror image is suddenly standing before him.

After a moment, the 2nd Chip is replaced once again by Aika, wearing a serene smile. "With hardwork a person can learn to do anything, and also whether what they wish to do is actually worth doing."

 

[Rybaer]

"Whoa!" Chip says when she takes on his appearance. "That's...kinda creepy.

"So, are you saying that what I do is actually harder than what you can do? Seems odd, because it's super easy for me to change shapes. I barely have to think about it."
