i created this monster off of the older monster manual

What level are you aiming for?
Why variable hit points?
Why Medium sized?
Why not just use the Grab rules for the Grab attack. Maybe an attack (versus AC) with a secondary attack to grab.
Which is the real damage value? +5 to +12 or 3d6+1d4 acid?
Special attack should probably be made an encounter power rather than be based on some arbitrary frequency for consistency with 4E powers.
Save versus poison for half damage is not a valid mechanic in the 4E rules. Maybe change to an attack versus Reflex or Fort with a "Miss: Half damage"?

Overall, I like ankhegs, but this one doesn't seem to really be a 4E creature. As I see it.
