D&D 5E [IC] Adventures in Ashwell: The Edge of Dispater

As the party creeps further into the cavern you find yourselves more and more hearing the noises of cave crickets and other insects moving about. Things move at the edge of the lights, and a roach-like stench fills the chamber. Caught unaware, Sorwheel yelps out as something crawls onto his uncovered leg and bites into his flesh taking 4 points of damage.

The boy suddenly goes stiff as he curls up into a ball on the floor. The light reflects figures moving on the walls, large segmented hundred-legged worms with big bitey pincers.

OOC: The creatures act on initiative six. You can roll yours, if you act before them take your turn now (or you can wait for other players, but that's up to you). Once the monsters go then I'll let all players take actions in whatever order they wish for each following round. Ask in OOC if that doesn't sound clear.

Ersarkess reacts quickly as the worm-things appear. Almost as a reaction he pulls and throws folded piece from his back and swings it. It flies, opening as it goes and wraps around creature in narrow passage in front of them, effectively blocking it for the moment.

"Sorwheel, back!" Noting the boy fell down he changes immediately to his defense.

"Raghnall, stand over the kid! Thren, can you heal him?"
OOC: changing languages as he goes so he is understood by everyone involved.


Init: 1D20+2 = [17]+2 = 19
Net with disadvantage at worm in EB 68: 1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18; 1D20+4 = [12]+4 = 16 Str DC 10 to get out (action) or cut through (again, an action)

Kilvo sees the light glinting off the creature and quickly aims his cannon and squeezes the trigger. A cacophonous Boom! fills the chamber as a shower of flame and sparks shoot from the end of his strange weapon.

One bug gets restrained, another explodes into fleshy bits after the thunder cannon annihilates it. The flash and sound is momentarily terrifying.

Ragnal and Thren still have actions.

Raghnall moves to cover Sorweel from any further assault, taking a defensive posture readying a counter attack to any attackers.

OOC:
Moving to cover Sorweel(would it be possible to stand over him as difficult terrain given he is a child and laid down?)

Shield bash [roll]1d20+5[/roll] damage [roll]1d4+3[/roll]

If a enemy misses assume ill shield bash it with the above. Ill roll a new set when this one is used, to save slowing down play trying to slot it in

OOC: My character's name is Thael, not Thren. It's funny, I think Necrotic made the mistake once, and it stuck ;-)


Thael winces at the sight of such discusting creatures. He was ready with his mace, and strikes the nearest one.

One bug goes down immediately. Another gets fended off and crushed by Raghnal.

The remaining bug is still restrained at EB 68. Party can take actions again.

Seeing only one bug left and their ease the rest fell Raghnall confidently strides over to the renaming bug and brings down his axe.
