If you were designing a mage faire what would you do?

My DM and I recently ran a solo Magefair adventure almost completely on the boards. Here's the thread.

It involved my 8th level Wizard, old Lucius Foxhound.

Basically, we had a big Mage Duel... lots of chances to buy items at the market... and exhibitions of new spells, etc. The story involved a frame-up and a murder. Feel free to borrow liberally. The adventure rocked.
