I decided to go ahead and try and get an imp familiar, as I frankly love imps.
However, there is the case that I need to be close to its alignment, and my DM wouldn't appreciate me killing his valuable NPC's or hurting random innocents; neither is that too fun for me to play.
However I've been watching dexter, and it sparked an idea that is slightly cheesy. Do you think it is reasonable to claim a lawful evil alignment if my character revels in death, loves to kill and watch it, regardless of the person that is dieing, but will not kill those under the protection of the law as it is too risky, nor will he break the law as it would stop him from killing. As such he takes it out on wild creatures and monsters, but in no way fights for the greater good.
Is it reasonable or a tad too cheesy before I talk to my DM about it.
