With his face covered in acid the Hobgoblin falls back and takes partial cover behind the desk. His fellow hobgoblin hides behind a row of supplies.

GM: The Hobgoblin’s will go first, and they will take cover. Acid Face gets half cover so +2 to AC and H2 gets full cover behind the southmost of the shelves. Player’s make your moves. Once we get into the open initiative will mater more but here I don’t want a bottle neck to form so post at will.

The throw is true, and the javelin slams the hobgoblin in the shoulder.

Lal then quickly moves besides the door, holding his tabar in two hands, moving out of the way to keep the field of fire clear but also ready to take a swing at a foe coming into their room.

As soon as the door opens, Loosh lunges his boarding pike - at thin air - as the Hobgoblins retreat to behind the shelves. Loosh chases them forward, lunging away at Acid-Face while maintaining reach.

Then the acid face goblin take a pike to the face and falls to the ground.

GM: Acid face Hobgoblin is up to 17 damage, so bloody as hell. And now he's dead.

Flint doesn't know what to do. Those enemies were two rooms away and although the dwarf could make his way over to plant his axe in the face of a hobgoblin -- such a lovely thing to do -- he would probably just be in the others' way.

A sudden flashback of his magic unexpectedly exploding, burning two soldiers badly, comes to mind.

No, Flint decides, he stay in the back room.

"I'll guard the rear," the sorcerer says quietly before adding more loudly, "Watch out for that bugbear; he'll be back."
