Regarding Cergorach's "conspiracy" suggestion: Let's just say that I respect Ryan Dancey for driving the OGL creation for a LOT more reasons than just the business acumen of it. 
He might or might not agree with me, and I don't even know if he could even say it publically, but the OGL was a stroke of genius for more than just WotC.
