Pathfinder 1E Is paizo going for marketing on ebay?

Just saw this new seller on ebay - paizopublishing - and wondered if this was a new marketing/advertising scheme using ebay auctions or if this is unconnected to paizo at all?

It looks like all the proceeds benefit the Red Cross, so rather than a new marketing scheme it looks like a fundraiser.

However, I would like confirmation that Paizo is indeed behind it and not someone using their name in a scam.

It's actually part of several auctions we just launched, in cooperation with Wayne Reynolds, to raise as much money as we can to aid the relief efforts in Japan. All of the proceeds from all of these auctions (one of which is an original piece of art from Wayne) will be donated to the Red Cross to aid Japan.

We've used this account before for similar charitable purposes in the past, like when we auctions off copies of the Core Rulebook to benefit Child's Play. But there's little reason for us to use it except in situations like this.

That said, since you mentioned it, we are auctioning off numerous gold-foil special edition copies of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and Pathfinder Bestiary (neither ever for sale in stores), signed by the entire Paizo staff. In addition, with artist Wayne Reynolds, we're auctioning off his original painting of the Iconic Samurai, that will be appearing in Ultimate Combat. All of the proceeds of these auctions will be going to the American Red Cross to aid in Japanese disaster relief.
