Then there is the support issue. People don't want a campaign setting without supplements, so you need to get out 2 at the minimum.

It's expensive, it's time consuming, and the level of expectation is higher.

I'm slowly working on one for Hart-Felt Productions. I'm hoping to have it ready to publish by the end of 2006, beginning of 2007. As I write the text of the core book, I'm also doing the supplements, and have ten planned in all (and that number does not include any adventures or the like). I want to have everything written and ready to go before I publish it, so I can ensure I release the supplements at a steady pace once the core book is released.

The setting has been about 20 years in the making, and it's a challenge to get it all down into a form that other people can use without much effort.
