Picked up issue #4 of the D&D comic (by IDW) yesterday.
Overall it was a fun story of hack and slash as the characters go deeper into the dungeon.
** spoilers **
- They start off in a trapped room being filled with water, until the halfling rogue finds a loose panel to the room below.
- The dwarf paladin and halfling rogue break through the panel.
- They battle some flying creatures.
- The character party gets split.
- A flying skull warns them to leave.
- They come across and fight a group of NPCs, who are purportedly protecting a portal to another plane.
- A big cyclops badguy comes through the portal.
** spoilers **
Not surprisingly that the next issue (#5) will most likely involve the characters fighting the big cyclops badguy, with the characters ending up being pushed through the portal themselves. (According to the preorder blurb for issue #6, the characters will start off being stuck in the Feywild at the start of issue #6). Issue #5 will end the first story arc of the "Shadowplague".
It would have been cool if a Planescape D&D comic series was done back in the 1990's. (I do remember a Spelljammer comic by DC).
