I gather your idea of spare cash and mine are different. I spend maybe $100.00 since I have the books from before this year. Most went to printer paper and ink, but some went to minis and 3pp modules.

Well, that was fun

I haven't kept track of it, but I'd say I've probably spend about half that. I see you're counting cons, so a year I go to Gen Con takes me up to a few thousand. You're counting a lot of basic stationery in there, which I guess is a valid cost, but I've never really thought to track it.

Most of my expenses were for cons to play AL. Bought the hardcovers and got a few knick-knacks. Don't collect minis because they're a PITA for me to store and transport, but I can see the appeal.

I once (a few years ago) guestimated how much I spent on D&D since the late 1970s. It was eye opening. I've paid about $0.50 per gaming minute (including playing D&D, playing D&D minis, preparing for games, and forum surfing) - but it is probably around $15K now.

What is the point of this bragging post?
Ain't bragging. I been tracking hobby purchases for years to see where my money goes. Yes this year I spend a ton on D&D and $186.12 on xbox.
Also to get a feel how much this community spends per average. Now I quit tracking my wife's hobby expenses except for things over $50 per shot. Road biking is expensive.
No I really really really enjoy bragging. Brag. Brag. Brag. Joy. Joy. Joy. Kill the landlord. Kill the landlord. Kill the land lore.

Hiya!

I feel almost ashamed...I've probably spent, since June, about (quickly checks email folder "PayPal") $8100.00 And none of that includes the roughly $1000 I spent on paints/brushes for my miniatures (don't use them, just paint them).

I haven't spent this much money on RPGs in a VERY long time. Probably took me 10 to 15 years to spend that much before. But, on the plus side, the ONLY thing I have yet on my "to buy" list is the "Deluxe Classical D&D Set" that WotC put out a few years ago. The one with the dice and books in a wood box. That one. Still waiting for one to show up for sale somewhere for a somewhat reasonable price (and no, Amazon is NOT reasonable for anything like this...not even close; examples right now on Amazon.Ca = B3, Palace of the Silver Princess for $176, 2e "Complete Druids Handbook" for $457, hell, you can pick up a sweet deal on the Marvel Super Heroes Advanced Set for the rock bottom price of $1,620...and they go up to $2,278). LOL! :)

So, I'm expecting to pay a few more hundred bucks and then, well, I guess that's it. My 'collection' of all the RPG's I've wanted in the last couple decades but didn't have the cash. Kind of nice to know I'm not "itching" to buy ANY more RPG books/things. Just like being debt-free. It's so...liberating. :)
