When the elf rolls the three, the three sailors immediately start to holler and cheer. "Well we have a pair of twins, we've got to break that up." Conner gets a length of rope and threads it through a pulley mounted to a bulkhead. He then takes both ends and walks out. Motioning towards the deck, he shows Kemis and Aazwen a line carved there.

"Here is what you do, stands sideways with one foot on the line. On the signal you will each pull the rope. The one that pulls the other over the line wins, and decides the order of play."

When both Kemis and Aazwen have positioned themselves, Conner gives each an end of the rope. He then moves back. "Go."

OOC: corcio and Swamptreader should each make strength checks for their characters. (1d20+STR mod).

Aazwen Shadewood - L1 Perfectly Normal Ranger

Aazwen, amazingly, does exactly as directed by the sailors, saying to Kermis in a halting voice suited to a frightened child, "Now, now, don't pull me in...into the wall, o..kay?"

At the moment Connor gives the signal, apparently now considering this test something worth focusing on, Aazwen's muscles tense as he pulls on the rope...

Although the ship's motion did not make Merlis as ill as Valen, the gnome was not nearly as comfortable as the others he traveled with. Once again he was amazed by the way the crazed elf sought to match himself to the environment he was in even though it merely caused him to stand out more. Watching as Kermis and Aazwen began playing with the other sailors in their dice game, Merlis began to trace outlines of the dice on the dirty floor and his mind slowly began figuring the odds of the dice landing on what number due to their shape, strength of the men tossing them, and the variable of the rocking of the ship.

~Interesting...~

the sight of the elf blowing the loud humans turns throrans sligh grin into fullblown laughter. "Good show there cousin, even if you are crazy." throran will comment through his laughter.

At Conner's signal, the two pull at the rope. To the human's surprise, the elf easily pulls him over. Kip and Dell can be seen exchanging coins. "Huh. Well thats it." He passes the dice to Kemis. "Well big guy. You get to go first."

OOC: Order of Play: Kemis, Aazwen, Kip, Valan, Dell, Conner. Go ahead and roll your first Round. It does not matter if you post in order or not.

It rains most of the first day, but as the second day breaks the weather returns to be calm and clear.

shocked and totally confused by the elfs sudden strentgh, kermis wonders if he had somehow managed to slip or simply grasp the rope incorrectly. he will scold himself and thinks that he must increase his strength somehow. good thing none of the kissy women of his tribe saw that. "OK....KERMIS GO FIRST." the large man says finally. picking up the dice he tosses a 5 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=766676)
looking down at them and trying to figure out the new rules of this game begins counting the dots on the dice. holding up his hand for everyone can see he says "I GET THIS MANY...." he says then turning to the sailor next to him ask "THAT GOOD?""

Aazwen Shadewood - L1 Perfectly Normal Ranger

Seemingly impressed with himself, Aazwen literally roars like a tiger and begins strutting around like a peacock, backs of his wrists pressed to his sides and his head bobbing forward and back. A strong, resonant voice proclaims, "And let that be a lesson to all ye that pretend to master my magnificence!"

On the last turn of his strutting pattern he catches Kermis' eyes, at which point he releases a pitiful, high-pitched "eep!" followed by a hurried return to sitting down again before the gaming board. Once there he resumes his salt and says, "Arrr, I be goin' after the big fish, arrr." A gecko licks an eyeball by way of reminding the world it remained alive.

~~

When his turn comes, the elf jiggles the dice violently in his cupped hands then lets them drop to the center of the board from a height of about two inches. The dice-rolling gods have awarded him a...4 and a 2. Aazwen doesn't appear outwardly sure what to make of a total of 6, assuming he's added the numbers correctly at all.

Kemis rolls a five, and then with a little prodding from the sailors places 1gp on the 5.

Aazwen rolls a six, and places 1gp on the six.

Kip rolls a six, and places 1gp on the six.

It is valan's turn.

Board:

The second day's good weather is replaced on the third day with much rain.

OOC: Kemis and Aazwen can go ahead and roll their second round dice. Valan should roll both his first round, and second round dice.
