Turthain carries the bell perhaps one hundred feet into the forest, and then looks for a hollow in a tree trunk in which to leave the bell. If such a thing cannot be found, the elf puts the bell down between the thick roots of a tree, close of the trunk, and covers it with leaves. If possible, he removes the clapper from the bell before doing so.
