ok I was reading the PHB and seen that you get a bounus to your ac equal to your dex mod if you're wearing light armor. This bounus, is it just your dex mod or your dex mod plus half your level. So really I think what I'm asking is what exactly do you consider the dex mod

The bonus you get in light armor is the higher of your DEX mod or your INT mod.

Regardless of the kind of armor you're wearing, you get a bonus to all your defenses equal to half your level.

So, heavy amor: AC = 10 + 1/2 level + Armor + Masterwork + Enhancement
light armor: AC = 10 + 1/2 level + Armor + Masterwork + Enhancement + DEX or INT mod

If a rule says to add your dex mod to something, you just add your dex mod, not your dex mod + 1/2 level. In most cases 1/2 of your level is already included in the calculation by other means if it's intended to be there (attack rolls, defenses, skill checks).
