Looking for adventure....while crossing the open sea

My Dungeon Crawl Classic group is leaving the mainland, of Blackmarsh, and headed to the Larvik Island in search of loot and missing persons. Can you guys suggest a short adventure that take place while crossing the open sea. I know there must be a short one shot adventure for my request but not sure where to look. I can make up something but having a ready made will save me a lot of time. Anything on RPGNOW? http://hdwallpapers.lt/wallpaper/stormy-night-sailing-ship-lightning-dark-art-hd-wallpaper-79539.jpg

Hey there, first of all, as the author of Haunting of Larvik Island, let me extend a big thanks for picking up the adventure and playing with your group :)

Second, there's a couple of sea-based shorties in the compilation adventure, In The Prison of the Squid Sorcerer, specifically the eponymous adventure by Ken Jelinek takes place in a town similar to Gielo, and "Sails Aflame!" by Jon Wilson may also be a good adventure as well.

Happy gaming!

All I got for ya is a possible thread to mine for ideas: check the "Aquatic" link in my sig. Oh yeah- and the "Campaign" link, too.

There was a very brief adventure (more like an encounter) that I enjoyed running way back in the day of 3.0 D&D. It was in the "En Route" encounter sourcebook on from Atlas Games. It involves a whole bunch of animals being randomly summoned on the ship. The source is a magical idol gone awry that is carried in the cargo hold. http://paizo.com/products/btpy7vgh?Penumbra-En-Route

En Route II and III have more aquatic travel encounters (II especially, which focuses on it), but I haven't ran or played through all these.

Ghost Ship - players come across another ship with no one on it.

Sargasso Sea - shambling mounds of sea weed in a windless sea. Husk of other ships trapped within it, will the adventures risk it?

There is an adventure for Arcana Evolved called The Depths of Hunger - http://rpggeek.com/rpgitem/59006/the-depths-of-hunger

Though it may not be your system, it is very similar to 3.0 D&D, so some of the monsters could be used (or substituted), and the plot is a nice steal. There's a whole backstory with why the characters are crossing the sea, but you could skip ahead to where the run aground on a huge, hollowed-out nautilus shell "ship" that is inhabited by a coven of hags. The characters make a deal with one hag to save her sister, and have to fight their way up through some freaky chambers (providing both combat, problem-solving, and moral dilemmas) to stop this crazed hag who is being taken over by this sentient artifact. I've run it a time or two at conventions, and it's very unique and memorable!
