Lord of the Rings RPG

I am fishing for opinions on the LoTR RPG. Has any one played it. How are the mechanics? What is the magic/level in the world. Does it maintain the Tolkien world view? How does it compare to MERP? Thanks for all inputs.

I have it and found it to be very good. It does keep the Tolkien's feeling all along, much better then MERP, especially regarding magic. I haven't yet played it, but I believe I will do it this week. So far, my only complaint is that I think that weapons do relatively small damage. However, without a playtest, it may be a wrong impression.
