Magic Item Use Question

Majushi

First Post
Hi Guys. A question recently came up in a game, and I don't know what the correct answer should be.

If you have three magic items, one with a daily power, one with an encounter power and one with an at-will power.

At heroic tier, how many uses would you have of each?

The daily, obviously once a day. But having used the daily, would you have to wait until a milestone to use the encounter one?

Also, the at-will is a floating lantern. Having to wait for a milestone to be able to change the lantern from dim to bright and back again would be ridiculous.

So how exatly would all this work?

One daily (if you don'e use some other item instead) and the others the way their names suggest - once per encounter and whenever you like to use it. :)

Only the "Daily" power carries the ("use only one") restriction on it. The Encounter and At-will powers have no such restriction.

The RAW says:
PH_p226 said:
Daily: A magic item’s daily power can be used
once per day and is renewed when its user takes an
extended rest. As with daily powers provided by your
class, there is a limit to the number of magic item
daily powers you can use on any given day. This limit
depends on your level.

Note that Encounter and At-will magic item powers do not have this text (or limitation).
