Crafting magic items has always been a tough-to-handle issue in most organized play settings / living worlds. This is mainly due to balance concerns.
In Erevos, we overcome this obstacle and allow crafting normally; furthermore, we give room to all crafting candidates to shine by making the setting magic – scarce! The balance concerns are addressed mainly through personalization: by getting in touch and receiving feedback by every player separately, we know his character’s power and design treasure rewards in his adventures to meet his needs without making him too powerful or keeping him too weak. The lack of a magic items market guarantees that crafters will always be on the spotlight. The crafting process nevertheless is not a piece of cake. Crafters will have to actively look for the right ingredients, developing their own technique of crafting (often very different from one crafter to the other) and sometimes journey very far just to get what they are looking for their next creation. In contrast to other living worlds, crafting is no more absent or at best a routine process. It is an adventure by itself!
