Metamagic spell trigger

Can you add more then one spell trigger feat from an artificer on the wand. Lets say you empower and maximize for a total of 6 charges used on the wand. Is that allowed or can you only do one metamagic feat on it.

Well, the ability reads:

"At 7th-level, an artificer gains the ability to apply a metamagic feat he knows to a spell trigger item (generally a wand)."

Since it speaks in the singular case, I believe it only means a single metamagic feat.

I don't really see any problems with allowing more than one, however, so long as all the costs are paid.

The original appearance of this ability (FR/Incantatrix) also allows only one feat to be applied.
