While I have a special place in my heart for DiTerlizzi's flesh-faced mechanical monsters, I do think this image does our friend the Quadrone high justice.

It's from the most recent Dungeon art pack. Though I can't find the article it appears in, I also confess to not looking very hard.

Needs some better facial expression like the DiTerlizzi modrons conveyed, but otherwise I actually approve of this quite handily.

I actually prefere silly pictures for silly creatures

Ever since 3e's dungeon punk style there was a disconnect between the picture of a creature and the mental image (my) descriptions invoked. Demogorgon is cool... but describing him without anyone at the table grinning might only work if you read aloud his stat block ;-)

I mean, this 'monster' looks like he needs help pumping his gas or something.
