Thanks! Those look great. Congratulations on researching prisons while avoiding Michel Foucault.

Completely off-topic but interesting for the historically-minded is a really cool article I had to read for a course that gives a really striking picture of an early medieval town that I'm attaching to this e-mail in PDF format. Usually the articles I have to read for school are too dry or ridiculous but this one...

Wild West Tech had a show on prisons in the west and I was shock (TV/movie misinformationeducation) to find out most town did not have them, chaining people to trees, locking them in outhouses/root cellars, or just plain shooting them. ;)

Had a bit on handcuffs too, with was more trouble to put on and take off someone that shooting was easier! ;)

Some stuff on handcuffs can be found here: http://www.handcuffs.org/

Not a free resource, but I thought I'd mention Crime & Punishment, from Atlas Games' Penumbra line. It gives pretty complete coverage of crime, investigation, punishments (including prisons), and so on in a D&D universe.

The downside, as I see it, is that the book sometimes takes a very modern view of the topic... like forensic magic... turning your game into CSI:Greyhawk or Elminster, M.E. (for us older Quincy, M.E. fans).
