At higher levels you grab Monk's Tattoo from Forgotten Realms (3e, I think) which increases your monk level by +7 or +9 for AC, unarmed damage and movement. It might even stack with a monk's belt (which does not aid movement). If it's +9 levels, that's an effective +30 bonus to your movement speed and doesn't use a slot. However, I think it's 70kgp or 90kgp ...

Hmm. Going from memory, if the bonus is +9, then a xeph level 9 monk, 1 Barbarian would have a base speed of 110 while psionicly focused (with the speed of thought feat) and add the run feat to match the level 20 lancer in that wizard's thread. If the Cleric of Elhonna bonus is not an enhancement bonus nor an insight bonus, that would bring your speed up to 120 ft.

Note: It'd be kind of funny to use the variant Druid (monk speed) and the variant ranger (barbarian speed) with a cleric of Elhonna if your DM would let you use the tattoo for the druid speed (in lieu of actual monk levels) - blinding speed and flavor!

I can't find my psionics book -- is Speed of Thought always active? What are the prereqs?

The Lancer build is truly a wonder to behold. Thanks, Slaved and Heaven Shall Burn! I can't quite bring myself to use the Blade Dancer. It's *so* overpowered, but so much fun! Ah, well, maybe I'll get over my ethics and ask to use it when I'm higher level (I'm starting at 5th). Just an amazing build and a wonder to behold! Wow. :)

Speed of thought has a wisdom 13 prereq and requires you to be focused and not wearing heavy armor to gain its benefit.

Why Ehlonna anyway? If there is a thematic reason I'd like to know, otherwise the other two dieties with the celerity domain both have the freedom mantle.

How about this?

Xeph Alternate druid 1/Cleric of Fharlanghn or alidammara 1/Divine mind 1/

And then some other stuff. Maybe swordsage 2 if you want to be able to wear light armor, get your wisdom bonus to AC, and get a some interesting combat options such as a stance that grants you concealment when you move. Possibly 2 levels of monk for evasion, good saves, and a couple of feats.

With speed of thought that puts you up to 70' while focused discounting anything you can pick up from equipment or those last two levels that are free.

3 times a day you can make this 90' for 3 rounds each time.

Maybe you can talk your dm into letting you get a level of warlock with an invocation that helps your speed and gives some other benefit as well.

There's also the crappy Dash feat...

Forgive my ignorance (and forgive the hijack)...whats so crappy about Dash? Its +5 if you are unencumbered and/or in light armor, right? I don't have any PC's that have taken it, but I didn't see it as being more than just another ho-hum feat.

Take a level of Wizard. Conjurer specialist. Take the immediate magic option from PHBII. Teleport 10' as an immediate action. It gives you movement even when it isn't your turn.

This is, of course, broken for a host of reasons.

Dash is considered crappy by many people because many d20 books have feats which give +10 movement all the time.

Well, one of my current characters in a homebrew game is a Warforged Psion who concentrates on Psychoportation. We use the 3.0 version of Psionics so this might be flawed for your purpose but I figured I would post it up.

Base speed of 30 feet.
(didn't do this but) Quick Trait: +10 ft.
Scout level 3: +10 ft.
Burst Power (free action): +10 ft.
Skate Power (1st level power): +15
(didn't get it either but) Speed of Thought: +10 ft.

85 Base speed with one round of prep [65 for the current build I have]. I based the character around movement. I caught up to a character that was running away. When I told my DM I was 5 ft in front of the fleeing character he almost choked :p

I realize I could probably do a little more work on it and I plan on getting Astral Steed, which would have a base speed of 180 before I can pick it up.

Edit - Thought of some more things.

Barbarian 1: +10 ft.
Dash: +5 ft.
Cleric of Ehlonna: +10 ft.
Divine Vigour: +10 ft.

Thats a 120 base speed at around 6th level. Now if you continue in Psion, you can pack on the Speed of Thought feats and keep gaining the +10 to speed.

I don't think the character would be too playable though. You'd be mixing two "Spell-casters" and a melee type together. So unless you plan on playing a very mobile fighter type or plan on just doing this for fun, I don't see how it would be worth it. But then again, its only my opinion and I have a bias against too much powergaming.

Wildrunner (if you're an elf or half-elf, and meets the pre-reqs) will give you Fast Movement (another 10' of movement). And it stacks with Barbarian Fast Movement.

WILDRUNNER prerequisites:
Race: Elf or half-elf.
Alignment: Any good or chaotic
Skills: Hide 5 ranks, Knowledge (nature) 5 ranks, Move Silently 5 ranks, Survival 8 ranks
Feats: Endurance
Hit Die: d10

Maybe not worth it for a cleric (waste a precious feat on Endurance; all those skill points on stuff clerics don't usually need). However, it does work in medium armor, so you can be decently armored.
