Hey, everybody! Post your favorite evil group's homebrew magic items here! :)

ZHENTARIM COMMANDER'S RING
Commonly worn among Zhentarim agents and officers of the middle ranks, this ring identifies the wearer as having the authority to administer the affairs and resources of the Black Network throughout Faerun (within reason).

The ring contains a concealed compartment Search DC 15) in the top, accessed through a clever slide away locking mechanism) that can hold one fine item such as a pill, powder, scrap of paper, etc. The bottom of the secret compartment reveals the symbol of the Zhentarim.

The exterior of the ring does not show any sign of identification that would identify the wearer as being Zhentarim to prevent the organzation's enemies from targeting these ringbearers. The ring's powers work only for a LE worshipper of Bane; otherwise it is just a normal ring of exquisite craftsmanship.

The ring provides its wearer with a +2 morale bonus to all Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate checks, imbuing him with constant feelings of confidence and authority.

ZHENTARIM WIZARD'S ROBES

Glamered to alter into mundane clothing of an appearance and quality dictated by the wearer's desire (changing the garment type is a free action), this robe is commonly found among mid-level wizards or higher of the Black Network.

In its natural state, it acts as Arcane Robes (+2 circumstance bonus to wearer's Bluff, Diplomacy or Intimidate checks to convince others of the wearer's great magical power) decorated with symbols of the Zhentarim, Bane and other mystical runes of power.

If used to create skimpy or seductive attire, the robes provide a +2 circumstance bonus to the wearer's Bluff (Seduction) checks.

If used to create ostentatious formal attire suitable for attending courtly functions, the robes provide a +2 circumstance bonus to the wearer's Diplomacy checks.

The robes only perform their powers for a LE worshipper of Bane.

ZHENTARIM STAFF/SCEPTRE
This weapon at first appears as an ordinary, if rather ornate, sceptre (adorned with the symbol of the Zhentarim at its tip). As a free action, its holder can release the hidden locking mechanism in the handle and extend the item to its full, quarterstaff length.

In either form, by brandishing it, the holder gains a +1 circumstance bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy or Intimidate checks to convince others of his great magical power.

Once per day, the holder can command the item to cast a shield spell on him as a 1st level sorcerer. This causes the zhentarim symbol atop the staff to glow with green fire for the spell's duration. The shield takes the form of a large, tranluscent black hand that moves to intercept incoming attacks against the holder. Typical command words are: "By the power of Bane" or "The Black Hand rebukes you."

Sceptre Mode: As masterwork club.

Staff Mode: As masterwork quarterstaff (can be used as a double weapon).

Not exactly Zhentish, but fitting any fiend-touched cabal of mages...

This is all OGC, yyy, ymmv, aybabtu, etc.

Hatecraft Signet

This tarnished silver ring, set with a two-headed red dragon atop it, worn facing away from the wearer, is only carried by members of House Hatecraft, as well as their most loyal retainers. Like all powerful Neerish magic items, personal energy must be placed within it, and the magical essences within gather, focus, and multiply the energy.

Without any spirit energy devoted, the Hatecraft Signet merely provides a +1 profane bonus to AC.

When worn by a good character all profane bonuses are applied as profane penalties, and the character gains a negative level that cannot be removed except by removing the ring.

Total XP Ability
0 +1 profane bonus to AC
2000 +1 profane bonus to weapon damage
4000 +2 profane bonus to AC
8000 +4 profane bonus to weapon damage

[I know that you cannot have a profane bonus to damage, but their name's friggin' Hatecraft! That cool of a moniker needs bent rules :). I'd imagine (by dead reckoning, no science) that this ring is worth 6,000 gp w/o any devoted energy. Like this? Visit the link in my thread!. More items later!]
