Hmmm, by mythologies i am assuming you mean fantasies?
Ninjas all the way. I actually had an ongoing wish/fantasy when i was in elementary school that a cute asian* girl would move in down the street from me and she would be very skilled in martial arts. Over the course of the summer we would 'go together' and she would teach me kick-butt martial arts. When school started in the fall i would be the envy of all the other 5th graders with my cute girlfriend and amazing kung-fu!
Okay, maybe that's not what you meant... Sheepish look... I'll just go, uh, watch Kill Bill again now..

Star Wars...errr, I guess that qualifies are Martians. Or even Samurai Martians if you look at it a certain way.

I was pretty equally influenced by Star Wars (Martians) as G.I. Joes (ninjas), so its hard to pick just one.
Speaking of G.I. Joe, with all the ninja butt kicking that was constantly going on, I often have to ask myself how much that comic was really about the military at all. It really did seem much more focused on its ninja characters. In fact, they could have done a successful spinoff by giving Snakeyes his own comic.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts.
