If you're a Noble, then you simply MUST have retainers, Sir. Without them you're just a Ronin, or a Free-Lancer, or (even worse) a Mercenary Knight.
Possible retainers include
1. a valet. This "gentleman's personal gentleman" will look after the Noble's clothes and general appearance (to include regular shaves). He may also deal with various financial details and arrange for bills to be paid. YOU won't be haggling with the local merchants over the price of beef. That would be undignified...
2. a cook. Eat healthy!
3. a groom. Your horse is worth the equivalent of an expensive sportscar (and is even more temperamental than a Ferrari). It's a good idea to employ a specialist who can keep it in perfect health.
4. a huntsman. Hunting is a very useful sport for the noble. You can practice many "warlike" skills - and you'll get to know all about the local geography.
