Finishing Moves​

We've all seen our favorite action hero pull off a move to wipe the floor with the villain and this idea was inspired by Optimus Prime in Transformers 2 when he literally rips the face off the Fallen. That may have been motor oil pouring out of the Fallen, but it was incredibly easy to imagine it as blood.

Create a power for any class based on a finishing move you saw in any movie, TV series, read in a book, comic book, or whatever your source. And be sure to list the source too.

Not Suitable For Work is a new addition to Combat Advantage, the free 4e series of PDFs from Emerald Press PDF Publishing. Every month will have a theme to which any number of brainstorming exercises will be made. Each week or so, we will post a new thread for 4e material utilizing that theme and everyone is open to submit their concepts on EN World. The trick to this game is that you must rely on your memory of the game and cannot use any supplements, core rulebooks, or online references - simply use your innate knowledge of the game to create new material on the fly. Accuracy is not immediately required - these are brainstorms for new ideas, concepts, and add-ons to 4e. Throw in your ideas, no matter how crazy they are because you never know what they may lead to.

NSFW is not a contest and is designed solely as a recreational design exercise for those of you stuck at work, school, or anywhere else on your lunch breaks with nothing to do. Waiting for that report to come back from management? Homework? Eww. Check out the theme and post your ideas for this week’s exercise. There’s no voting, no deadlines, or bad ideas. It’s all about having a little bit of fun while the boss isn’t looking. Enough talk!

Finish Him Feat Power
You execute a finishing blow that disheartens your foes
Daily ✦ Martial, Weapon
Immediate Reaction Ranged Sight
Target: One creature
Requirement: Cutthroat Specialist feat
Trigger: You kill one creature that is not a minion
Effect: Any enemy that starts its turn adjacent to you cannot shift
Sustain Minor: You can sustain the power’s effect.

Cool. Throw on the fear keyword and I'm wondering about making the sustain be a move action or have a save in there to avoid this sucker be abused (from a DM's point of view - I'm sure players won't mind a bit).

Quicky idea...

There can be only one
Lightning burst visual effect and lots of collateral damage you are immobilized and gain a bunch of temporary hit points when an enemy with the right key word is reduced to zero hit points.

If you cant guess the source you should rent more classic movies or investigate the television career of Adrian Paul.

The key word makes this ability only interesting in a campaign with a fairly focused nature. This might be a power granted by one with a Deva racial feat (or deva skinned somewhat more human seeming).
Although the warforged not dying from failed death saves is actual more appropriate as you only die if they cut off your head becomes mechanically supported (perhaps there are ageless deva who have features from warforged).

Daily Martial, Fear
Immediate Reaction Close Burst 2.
Target: All enemies in Burst
Trigger: Kill a Non-Minion enemy
Requirement: Intimidate skill training.
Effect: Make an Intimidate check against the Will of every enemy in the burst. Push 2 against each affected enemy.

Instant Badass - Fighter Level 25
You show your enemy that you are, without question, the victor.
Daily - Martial, Reliable, Weapon
Standard Action - Melee weapon
Target: One bloodied creature
Attack: Strength + 2 vs. AC
Hit: You and the target are both stunned until the end of your next turn. At the end of your next turn, you may shift one square, and you automatically sheathe your weapon. Once the stun effect ends, the target takes 10[W] + Strength modifier damage and is knocked prone.

I'm pretty sure you all can figure out what I'm referencing.

I'm picturing scenes from Kill Bill, Volume One for both Who's Next? and Instant Badass...

...unless I'm wrong. Then that's not what I'm imagining at all.

First, the feat, followed by the power. The power requires no attack roll. The target just dies.

Boom Headshot (Epic)
Prerequisites: Level 21 or higher, 20 dex
Benefit: You can use BOOM HEADSHOT as an encounter power.

BOOM HEADSHOT - Feat Power
After finishing one enemy, you quick load, whip around and fire an arrow into another enemies head, exploding it in a shower of gore never thought possible.
Encounter - Martial, Weapon
Free action - Ranged, Weapon
Target - 1 minion
Trigger - You kill a non-minion creature.
Effect - The minion dies violently, having it's head exploded by your 1337 shooting.

Pure awesome.

Hehe, nice. Anything to slaughter and brutalize a minion, I'm all in favor.
