Shower thoughts maybe? Give me a short oddball RPG tip. Especially if it just popped into your head recently.

Here’s one.

Let your players invoke each others ideals flaws and bonds to give themselves inspiration. Or give other players inspiration.

If you’re not sure, let the dice decide and make an oracle roll.

There are hundreds of ways to resolve this.

My favorite is the d6 yes, and. 6 yes, and. 5 yes. 4 yes, but. 3 no, but. 2 no. 1 no, and.

If circumstances favor yes or no, roll two and keep one. Like dis/advantage in 5E.

There are games that use custom cards for random resolution, I think--Everway did this but I'm sure there have been others?

Tarot readings are thematically appropriate in many cases, and you can find some that are fantasy-themed. (I have seen at least 2 anime tarot card sets.)

If you want to avoid cultural appropriation, one form of European divination that's been long since forgotten is geomancy.

I have been having the players roll monster damage on their PC. I find it speeds up combat if I can skip it. I could just use average damage, but people like to roll dice.

Always use more senses than just sight to describe a scene.

Make the players recap at the start of a session.
