can a soulknife manifest more than one mind-blade at a time (for two weapon fighting)? It doesn't specifically say that you can or cannot. As long as you hold it in your hand it doesn't dissipate, so one may conclude that you can manifest one in each hand... any comments?

thanks for the reply, (psi) severed head, but i've searched that faq... there are two questions about imbedding powers and attacks, but nothing about more than one mind blade...

You're welcome. Here's a more detailed analysis, cropped from the SRD:

"Mind-Blade: As a move-equivalent action, the soulknife creates a semisolid blade 1 foot in length composed of psychic energy (distilled from his or her own mind). As long as he or she holds the blade, it is identical in all ways (except visually) to a short sword and deals 1d6 piercing damage. The blade can be broken; however, the soulknife can simply create another on his or her next move-equivalent action. The moment the soulknife relinquishes his or her grip on the blade, it dissipates. "

So far, so good. Creation is an MEA and it lasts as long as it is held.

"At 2nd level, the soulknife can throw his or hermind-blade as a ranged weapon with a range increment of 30 feet. Whether or not the attack hits, a thrown mind-blade then dissipates."

Only an addendum further reinforcing that a mindblade only dissipates when let go (or, as is implied, when broken).

"At 6th level, a soulknife can materialize his or her mind-blade as a free action instead of a move-equivalent action. The soulknife can use this extraordinary ability as long as his or her power point reserve is 13 or more."

So with Free Draw, the only limit is how many free actions the DM allows.

My analysis indicates there's no reason a Soulknife cannot make multiple mindblades as long as he retains a hold on each one. I'm a big fan of Soulknives and allowing two-weapon fighting doesn't seem too powerful. (I'm a fan except for Sever Life which seems a wee bit overpowered.) I played a PsyWar 10/Soulknife 10 in a one-shot adventure and intentionally never used Sever Life. The character's build is below. He intentionally took the Ambidex/TWF path and acted as a back-up archer, back-up melee guy.
