I went last night and gave up my every other game session. My fiancee' and some of his friends decided to surprise me because i had never been.

They have this thing about art shows and culture.

*shrugs* He swears hes going to make me cultured yet (hes a very hot 43 and im 23. He has the means to be cultured and ive struggled my entire life. Go fig).

Anywho, if anyone gets the chance, please go. Ive never been to Cirque de Soliel but im sure they are all breath taking. This one was about a fallen angel finding redemption in love and all the pain he must endure by going through tests.

The acts were amazing.

All i have to say is now i have a future game idea from what i saw.

I went year before last to La Nouba at Disneyworld, and it was truly the most incredible thing I'd ever seen. They basically turned gravity off for ninety minutes. I've seen many of their shows on dvd, but the real thing is orders of magnitude cooler.

Next month my partner and I are going to Vegas for my brother's wedding, and we're trying to decide which of the Cirque shows we want to go to- we can only afford to see one, and there are two in Vegas. "O" is largely water-based, and is very different (from what I've heard) from other Cirque shows. "Mystere" is a little less expensive, and more like their other shows, but also older and more likely to be changed out for a new show before "O."

Decisions, decisions...

Anyone have any advice on which to see this time around?

I was told to tell you see O. Randy said he was going to try to take me to go see it when he has time off of work. But his training for becoming a financial specialist for Wachovia/First Union/Prudental wont allow him time off till later (way later) this year.

I've seen both "O" and "Mystere". "Mystere" is a very amazing show and very much worth the seeing. But if you have seen other shows put on by Cirque du Soleil, I would recommend seeing "O" as it is their only water show (as far as I know) and is absolutely amazing. Try to get a seat near the center; you don't want to be off to the sides (it's harder to see everything from those angles).

By the way, Cirque de Soleil is going to be having two new shows open up in Las Vegas soon. Though I do forget the names off hand, one is opening up at New York, New York this year in July, and the other is opening up at the MGM Grand in 2004.

For those that are interested, Bravo has a "reality show" that is about the making of Veriki (sp) Focusing mostly on the performers and what they end up going through to make the show.

For example, they fired the lead singer 10 days before the debut...... It is particularly fascinating watching the inevitable clash between art and business.

It airs Monday nights on Bravo.
