Or the Kings people who would be more alert to security problems could have caught the plotters before the place was blown. We don't know what would have happened if they had not pretended to be royalty.
Well, the other king's people didn't notice the assassins, so you can't really say. Certainly, though, you can't possibly blame the impersonation for the explosion. The most you can blame among the OotS is Belkar for setting off the explosives, and Belkar is...Belkar.

Actually, unless I'm mistaken wasn't the gold stored in a number of Bags of Holding? You know, that extradimentional storage you can never have too much of?

Those same bags that have a nasty habit of voiding their contents to the astral plane when ruptured? Their money is probably perfectly intact... where ever things that are 'forever lost' wind up, that is.

Edit: Tch, damn. Day late and a dollar short. Lord Vyreth already covered the bag thing.

If they are, then yes. They don't look like Bags of Holding, but I don't know if they are or not. Don't forgt the line about picking up the "lightest" one with the bottle caps in it.

Heh, on the whole "impersonating royalty" bit. They better hope that Miko doesn't find out about it, otherwise, she's perfectly within her rights to hang every one of them. Impersonating royalty is pretty much the greatest crime you could commit under Miko's background.

If by 'perfectly within her rights' you mean she has the power to enforce her personal will on others without any sort of legal backing...maybe, maybe not. Comments in the comic seem to indicate that the party would wipe the floor with her in a straight-up fight.

If you mean that she has some sort of mandate (divine or given to her by her 'lord') which allows her to kill otherwise good people for any transgression she deems worthy...heh. Belkar in particular would find that one amusing.

Actually, she just beat them all ;) (looks like Durkon didn't fight on either side)

"Within her rights"?!? Where they are, she's got no legal rights to law enforcement other than her own inflated sense of self importance. By definition, once outside her liege's lands she's not any kind of official, the OotS is humoring her by going along as her "captives". If anything, she could well be arrested for murder if she tried it, since she'd be killing somebody outside the scope of local laws.

Of course, if she tries to summarily execute them for the Inn incident, they'll gut/disintegrate/impale/behead her for trying it. She only survived her initial encounter with them by raw luck. I think after her last tirade, she's one outburst from being killed by the OotS, to much rejoicing.

Yeah, that latest comic sucked. Miko is a DMPC plot railroad device of a terrible DM. If I was the OotS players, I'd walk at that point, no ifs, and's or buts.

...and would likley make up his own god and claim similar inspiration and mandate:)
