I also noticed a clear lack of advantage, overall if they hadn't kept plugging it I couldn't tell you that was next

Yeah, I wouldn't have blamed anyone for mistaking that for a 3rd Edition or Pathfinder game. There were a couple places where you could tell, but it was relatively subtle.

However, it obviously wasn't 4th. Which is something interesting I hadn't really considered before, how easy it is to tell that you're listening to 4th Edition.
