I just started one campaign last week, and I'll start another one tomorrow. Both are set in the Forgotten Realms and use my revised 3.75 rules. The first one has 2 players at the moment:

Quenya Lunathar, female moon elf mage
Dorian Mograine (alias "Drake"), male human fighter

In my longest-running campaign (which was concluded last year, after 5 years of gaming), which was also set in the FR, we had the following PCs over the years:

Blinkenstaf Nathandem, male human fighter / cleric / devoted defender / divine champion of Helm
Soffron, male halfling rogue / assassin / unseen adept
Phillip Cave, male human cleric / divine devotee / divine agent of Selune
Huld II Belabranta of Waterdeep, male human enchanter / mentalist
Hettar Sha-Dar, male human fighter / ranger / kensai / purple dragon knight
Gildor Tinuviel, male half-elf bard / seeker of the song / spymaster
Raja Silverflame, male sun elf wizard / harper mage
Godfroi de Saint-Omere, male wood elf ranger (His excuse for the name? His character once heard a story about a human paladin from another plane and he liked the name so he adopted it...)
Telamon, male human paladin of Lathander
Adeliv Sanana, male human sorcerer
Aramil "Raiden" Moondawn, male moon elf monk / sorcerer / argent disciple
Daemadai Driiquar, male avariel fighter / cleric
Filoktet, male wild elf barbarian
Meleagar, male half-drow druid

CleverNickName

Limit Break Dancing (He/They)
Not always true. It may be true for those whom you have, or do, game with, but there are people who really aren't "with it" enough to know when they are being overly silly or just plain dumb (not that being dumb is bad, I do it myself, on purpose even sometimes - but other times, like everyone else in the world, I don't always know I'm doing something dumb when I do it - nobody's perfect).
True, the new guy at the table might give his character a name that sounds good to him, but silly to everyone else. Like the guy who named his rogue "Spider." It was a good name...until the Spider-Man jokes started.

But naming your wizard "Egg McMuffin?" Come on. Nobody does this by accident. The player isn't ignorant or simple; she was deliberately trying to make me crazy. I know this because I have been married to her for more than seven years. :)

I have

Sir Gnoguh
Sir Carric
Sir Truxas
Sir Tagron
Torn

Together they form the Swords of Drahar. As the names imply, they have all been awarded a minor title of nobility.

World of Kulan DM
In my Shackled City 3.5 campaign, the PCs names were . . .

Argo Flameheart (cleric/radiant servant/prestige paladin)
- Amaryllis Greenbottle (halfling rogue/dragon shaman) [Argo's cohort]
Hezekiah Grofus (wizard)
Karr'Toomba (barbarian [variant]/ranger [variant]/horizon walker)
Meryn Moonshadow (elf bard) [deceased]
Shötte (frost giant fighter)
Toryn Stonecutter (dwarf expert/fighter/ranger/deep warden)

Before that, I ran a short-lived 3.5 campaign based on the Burning Plague adventure. The PC names for that campaign were . . .

Blacktaros (barbarian)
Firak (elementalist)
Ionesco Valdeshar (swashbuckler)
Soja (kitt [cat race] monk/rogue)
Toryn Stonecutter (same PC as above)

In the game I am currently running:

Alvan Volsaiga (Human Wizard)
The Thousand-Eyed Viper (Dragonborn Barbarian)
He of the Broken Hall (Dwarf Paladin)
The Snow Raven (Human Warlord)
The Sun's Beloved Twin Fangs (Eladrin Ranger)

We are using fancy epithets rather than real names for a particular plot reason important to the campaign. They can be a bit of a mouthful while running combat, but I really like them. :)
