PC Title Suggestions

I'm an English teacher and as such I get two week break during the holidays. I usually pass some of this time playing PC games that I've missed out on during the busy school year. This year I find that I don't have any clear ideas as to what I should pick up. Cost is a factor, as I don't really like to spend more than $20 on a game. Last year I played Neverwinter nights, Pirates, and Temple of Elemental Evil. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The only two recent RPGs that I can honestly say I liked were Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Vampire:Bloodlines.

Between those two, that ought to take care of two weeks' worth of spare time :p

For $20 or less? I can only think of crappy ones like Dungeon Siege.

Guild War is on sale for less than $30 at Best Buy this week. (Or is it Circuit City?)

If you want to get away from annoying children, don't pick Guild wars. It's an online game and while I'm sure there are some adult players, there's quite a lot of people throwing around childish insults. (Though it was interesting to discover that most of the ones from when I was a kid still are being used)

you might try Gothic 2 Gold. $20, sort of a First person RPG.

Doom 3 is now $20

I, too, recommend Gothic 2. It's one of the best single-player computer RPG's I've ever played. (And I've played many, many computer RPG's in the past 10 years or so.) What makes Gothic 2 so outstanding is it's rich, intriguing NPC's environment; and also, how very different the gameplay is depending on what profession you choose and what moral/ethical crossroads you take.
