Positive Energy Conversion Template

"Positive Energy Template" is a template which can be grafted onto any creature (see note on adaption below)

Creature remains unchanges except for the following: When targeted by positive energy, except it gains the following ability: virtual Immunity to positive energy. Furthermore, it may attempt to "steal" positive energy which is being used to empower divine metamagic abilities or anything else which uses positive energy such as a paladin's smite evil ability. Additionally, such spells as healing spells, which use positive energy can be target to be captured. The DC for using this class skill in such a manner is DC10+lvl+ cha modifier or the levels of positive energy are stolen. This save must be made by the caster/ user of the positive energy. As a nasty side effect of this template the creature which possesses the template. This virtual immunity to positive energy can be overcame when the caster/ paladin rolls a check vs DC 25 + cha mod + hd of the creature so being turend. Failure means that that levels of positive energy are captured and turned to a like amount of negative energy. This negative energy can be used to do one of several things

  • Store it for later use. This can be done easily for a number of rounds equal to the HD of the creature having this ability + it's cha and wis modifier. It can continue to attempt to keep said levels for a concentration check of 10+ # of levels stores - cha, - wis modifiers, cumulative +1 per turn.
  • use to bolster/ strengthen/ heal undead
  • empower an evil version of divine metamagic
  • cast "inflict" spells of the same level
  • mbue undead with turn resistance (this usage stacks with whatever turn resistance they already have)
  • boost an undead's ability scores-- Exceptions: Con cannot be raised as undead have no constitution scores. Also Int cannot be increased for unintelligent undead.
  • provide a vile/ profane ac bonus equal to the number of levels of positive energy exptended (this can be broken up amongst differnt targets), increase the undead's saves, or increase the saves vs a single ability at a cost of 1 level per point so raised
  • create (or extend the duration) of any spell of the same level as there are levels of positive energy, or suppliment levels of spells with energy

Adaption
"Positive energy" is only one such a case
In campaigns where elementals are turned because of the player choices, elemental could be what they're getting power from
In campaigns where plants are rebuked, all spells from the plant sphere could be used
