Quantum Tunneler/Timer [Technological Device]
This small device, which resembles a cell phone from the late 1990’s is a mechanical wonder. The display on the device has four digital slots, a readout for when the next wormhole will be in sync with the reality the travelers currently reside on. The readouts are (from left to right) for days, hours, minutes and seconds.

To randomly determine when the next wormhole will appear roll 3d20 for the seconds display; for the minutes display roll 1d20, on the result of a 20 roll again, should another 20 come up roll again and add the sum of the three rolls, the sum cannot exceed 59. Should a sixty be the sum of the minutes, then disregard it, the seconds display is how much time remains until the next wormhole. Should the result of the minutes display be 59, continue onto the hours display. Roll 1d20, should the result of the d20 roll be a 20 then add 1d4. Now move on to the days display. Roll 1d100, on the result of 100 the entry for days is 00.

When the timer reaches zero a spatial rip tears a hole in the fabric of reality. Anything that traverses into the hole/quantum tunnel is deposited elsewhere in the multiverse. Without special hardware to provide an anchor to a specific place, travelers can be deposited on the parallel universe anywhere within 10 to 25 miles from their destination point. When teach quantum tunneler/timer is first created it is equipped with a crystal battery that powers the device for 3 years.

If the users of the quantum tunneler/timer fail to travel through the wormhole, they are stuck in the alternate reality they currently reside on for 29.9 years; the amount of time it will take for the next dimensional convergence to sync up with that reality.

Paratransponder Upgrade
A normal quantum tunneler/timer can not track wormholes to other realities. With this upgrade, the timer can sense any wormholes that have been active in the last seven days. The timer will store the coordinates associated with the wormhole and when the timer reaches zero, the user can opt for the wormhole to open up to any of the coordinates stored within it. In addition to track wormholes, this upgrade automatically stores the coordinates of all realities the travelers are propelled to.

COST: $5,000

Quantum Anchor Upgrade
A special piece of hardware that be added to the quantum tunneler/timer allows those that traverse the wormhole to be deposited within a specified area. The area can be as tight or loose as the user wishes. Usually a tight area is 5 to 10 miles in diameter from the base point, generally no larger than a city. A loose area would be much wider in diameter and could deposit the travelers anywhere within the county they reside in.

Users of the quantum tunneler/timer that travel beyond their keyed area must return to it or the timer fails to open a wormhole, leaving the travelers stuck in that alternate reality for 29.9 years.

For example, a tight locale would be a keyed spot in San Francisco. When the travelers enter the wormhole, they would be propelled to a parallel San Francisco, but never more than 5 miles in any direction from the keyed spot.

Quantum tunnelers/timers without a quantum anchor can deposit travelers anywhere on the surface of the planet.

COST: $100 per mile in radius

Crystal Battery Upgrade
When the quantum tunneler/timer is first created, it takes an amount of goods equal to $5,000 to properly construct it. Three thousand dollars of that money is used to buy a crystal, which powers the device for up to three years. A crystal worth more can be used, and can only be bought in $1,000 increments. For every extra year the user wants to add to the quantum tunnelers/timers battery life, they need to spend another $100 on the crystal in question.

If for example the builder of the device, wanted the battery life of the quantum tunneler/timer to last for 100 years, then they would need to spend $100,000 dollars on a crystal worth that much.

COST: Variable
