Problem installing eTools on my WinME

Greetings one and all,

I've been trying to install eTools on my laptop (running WinME) and encountered a problem:

The install went OK, upgrades went OK until the first version of eTools
that displays the progress bar while starting (don't know off-hand, is 1.2.1 or 1.3.0) -> install looks fine, the update script gets executed, but when the program loads, the progress bar jumps to 2% and then the system freezes
(mouse still works and the system responds to double ctrl-alt-delete by rebooting, but no taskmanager after first ctrl-alt-delete and no other keys responding)

I checked and found IE6, MDAC28 was installed and WinME version JET40 drivers.

Anybody had same or similar problems?

Did you start etools after every update?

I did. I posted here to see if any at ENWorld had simuilar problems and because I was at work. I remembered my ENWorld forum password but forgot my CMP forum password...

The most common problem I'm aware of is the default folders. Some of the e-tools programs and/or updates want to install into the folder "program files\wizards" and others want to install into "program files\wizards of the coast"

Find out where your EXE file is and have all the updates install into that folder.

Just taking a guess, but I've seen this particular problem multiple times.
