Protectin from Evil Question

Otterscrubber

First Post
In the descirption of Prot v. Evil it says you are protected from outsiders (except good) from coming in contact with you unless you attack them; in which case you still get the +2 to AC, saves and whatnot vs. Evil. What if there are 3 Elementals. None of them can touch you but you decide to attack one of them. Is only that one allowed to touch you now or can all of them start working you over?

Legend
from the srd on pfe

The protection against contact by summoned or conjured creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature.

It seems to say only against the single attacked blocked creature.

Subject: Detect Evil ...

Regarding the Detect Evil spell and the chart on page 192 of the
PHB:

Argument One: The chart not only provides the strength of an
"evil aura," it
is positively determinative of which objects and such have evil
auras.

Effect of Argument One: Zombies and skeletons (Neutral in
alignment) radiate
an evil aura. A 5th level LN cleric of Hextor radiates a
stronger evil aura
("Strong") than a 20th level LE cleric of WeeJas ("Moderate").

Argument Two: The chart is intended to be consulted once an evil
aura has
been determined to exist. The chart, in other words, determines
the
strength of the aura; the existence of the aura is determined by
alignment
and other rules.

Effect of Argument Two: Zombies and skeletons do not radiate an
evil aura.
A 5th level LN cleric of Hextor does not radiate an evil aura. A
20th level
LE cleric of WeeJas radiates an "Overwhelming" evil aura.

The Question: Which is correct, Argument One or Argument Two?

Sage Response: Number 1 is correct. All undead creatures have evil auras, and do all clerics of evil deities. Thus, the spell does not detect
alignments, it detects evil auras.
