Animate City sounds like a pretty nasty spell.

The Wizards site seems to give the impression that the book's out today, though.

Yeah, they used to call them "dabus" in the Planescape setting.....*sigh*

These guys are not dabus. Dabus were cool servants of the Lady of Pain. They didn't have letters flying around their heads.....they did create rhebuses, which are basically pictograms whose sounds actually mean words. And they didn't walk around....they just floated off the ground.

The Illumians appear to be a human type race that have glowing letters floating around their heads at all times.
