first post :)

I wrote this last friday. Sadly I didn't meet the deadline for the mythological monster contest...
Comments and criticism are welcome.

At the center of a surging horde of fiends strides a 25-foot-tall, red-skinned giant, barking orders. His cruel black-eyed face is framed by big tusks, ibex horns and a black full beard crusted with dried blood. The demons black, clawed hands wield a bloodsmeared mace and a wooden shield covered with blasphemous signs.

Before the dawn of time, when the Queen of Chaos led demon-kind to war against the forces of law, the Obyrith created unique Tanar'ri to serve as commanders and champions for the forces of chaos. Among these creations was Raktabija; a fiend with the ability to create large armies of lesser demons from his blood.
Even though the Tanar'ri have long since overthrown their Obyrith masters and the Queen of Chaos has disappeared, ancient Raktabija remains an eternal slave to the purpose for which he was created.

Combat:

Abyssal Blood (Su): When Raktabija suffers at least 10 points of damage from single attack, his blood transforms into demons when it strikes the ground. The demons are under the archfiend's control and willing to sacrifice themselves for him. One hour after their birth and once per day a thereafter, demons born from Raktabija's blood must succeed a DC 18 Wisdom check or melt into puddles of black ooze.
Determine the demons created using the following table (Roll 1d10):

1-3: 2d8 manes (FC1 p.45)*
4-6: 2d6 dretches (MM p.42)*
7-8: 1d6 babau (MM p.40) are born in unoccupied squares adjacent to Raktabija
9: 1 hezrou (MM p.44) is born in unoccupied squares adjacent to Raktabija
10: 1 vrock (MM p.48) is born in unoccupied squares adjacent to Raktabija
*Since he is three size categories larger, manes and dretches can occupy the same space as Raktabija.

If the attack kills Raktavija, instead of minor demons, a new Raktabija rises where his blood hits the ground, as though true ressurection had been cast on him. The only way to prevent this from happening, is to prevent the archfiend's blood from hitting the ground.

Spell-like Abilities(Sp): At will: - air walk, blasphemy (DC 26), desecrate, detect magic, detect good, eyebite (DC 24), gaseous form, greater command (DC 23), greater dispel magic, greater teleport, invisibility purge, telekinesis (DC 23), tongues, unhallow, unholy aura (DC 26), unholy blight (DC 22) 3/day: - greater scrying (DC 25), quickened telekinesis (DC 23), quickened unholy blight (DC 22), reverse gravity (DC 25) 1/day: - force cage, implosion (DC 27), teleportation circle. Caster level 20th. The save DC's are Charisma-based.

Summon Tanar'ri (Sp): Once per day, Raktabija can automatically summon 4d10 manes, 3d10 dretches or 2d4 babau. This is the equivalent of a 9th level spell (CL 20th).

Possessions: Raktabija wields a +5 unholy heavy mace and a +5 heavy wooden shield of arrow deflection. Both items also have an additional enchantment that immediately teleports them to his hands after he reincarnates through his vile rebirth ability.

I've increased the CR to 23. Raktabija lacks a bit in the offensive department, so it shouldn't be any higher.

Any idea about time and theme for the next challenge?
PC/video game monsters maybe. ;)
