Bardic inspiration is about helping other people. Brooding loners are edgier than helpful support characters.

I reckon my vote is for the vengeance paladin. Hexblade is ok, but would require your edgy PC to be beholden to a patron. Owing your powers to someone else kinda ruins the effect.

I'd go with

Dhampir (or hexborn, for extra self-harm), vengeance paladin, haunted one (or urchin), fighting with either a scythe or a whip and dagger (with inverted grip, of course).

Feat:
Eldritch Adept, for Improved Darkvision. Of course, your eyes become pitch black orbs.
Shadow Touched.

Hollowborn
Touch of Death
Midwinter Child
Inscrutable
