ooc: 20 ft would be just in full illumination. I would prefer 45 ft, just out of shadowy illumination. Goliaths have darkvision because of their type (monstrous humanoid). But I'm fine with 25 ft, if Elwyn insists.

"Let the ones with darkvision stay out of the light."

Talon and Weasel get down to the small room at the bottom of the stairs. The others hang back, waiting for the two scouts to move out of the way.

What would you two like to explore?

Weasel pads over to the cask to see what is/was inside it. Perhaps the contents can shed some light on who built this place he thinks. He will then head to the door and go through, as quietly as he can, taking a moment beforehand to summon up his Mindblade.

Is Weasel going to search the crate? If so go ahead and roll a search check, otherwise all he sees is a battered old crate, the wooden planks of which are cracked and decaying.

Weasel sees a skull buried among the broken planks, but in reaching in to check it out he disturbs the crate. A mechanism hidden in there trips, and a portion of the ceiling to drop down, releasing three orc skeletons into the room.

Initiative and actions, please.

Those above can roll listen checks, DC 5 for Elwyn and Freya, DC 15 for Tulbar and Rugner. If you succeed, you hear the sound of rocks and bones falling to the ground from below and can act this round.
