OoC:Comp working again...for the moment. Forlash healed 27 HP. Moving right along... IC Hastening down the corridor, the lumbering Muragar, Forlash, Kurg and the frantic Mephit carreen against walls (and a low ceiling several times), as the Mountain rumbles and quakes. Huffing loudly from the heat and smoke of an ever-increasingly hostile home, at last the Band reaches a huge Iron door that looks read to burst from the pressure and heat of the place. the Mephit excitedly yells 'Behind Door, big machine,Boss! Fix Machine! Me can get Mephits to fix, but you big, need your strongness! Need...' The Mephit never gets a chance to finish it's statement, as the massive door suddenly explodes outward, smashing into him, barely missing shearing off Bargo's head and smashes into Durgo,Kurg and Forlash, knocking them all to the ground as it rips by.A splatmark on one wall shows where the Mephit used to be... < Wow,Bargo made a DC 20 ref check...Bargo. The rest of you are pretty lucky that I rolled 35 points of damage on 12 D6...> As the others are bowled over by the massive door, Bargo peers into the ragged opening to see a truly awe-inspiring sight. Bargo has never seen such machines, but he can tell that this one has to be one of the biggest ones ever built. A massive chasm stretches down for what seems a half mile, a lake of orange lava below, bubbling and spouting fumes upwards. Suspended over the lava is a huge pile of wheels, chains and pipes, leading off down dozens of tunnels and shafts in all directions. Anchor chains with links as thick as Bargo's torso secure the mass in place, more than fifty of them attached to walls and up into the cone above. A sound behind brings Bargo's attention back, where he hears a grating sound, followed by an angry wrenching and *thud* where Durgo struggles to his feet, out from under a corner of the Door. Fuming mad, his father heads towards the opeining, flanked by a limping Kurg and a very dazed looking Forlash.
