Whatever happened to your retired PC's? This might be interesting.

Made-up example:
1) General Jack O'Neill
2) Human Soldier 15 (Stargate D20) - NG
3) Earth (Stargate universe)
4) Stargate Command, Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado
5) Commander of Stargate Command, deals with bureaucracy and orders around PC's, but does not go on missions.

Real example for me:

2) Human Cleric 21 of Heimdall (AD&D) - LG

4) Thornward Castle, Thornward, Bissel
5) Heals war wounded for the Margravate of Bissel at their capital's castle. May also make magic items. Does not adventure or have much interaction with PCs. Has several Lizard Man convert followers.

3) Greyhawk
4) Dungeons under Cauldron, independent area south of the Hold of the Sea Princes
5) Dead, slain by "Prickles" in the encounter with the slave dealers in the 2nd adventure, the last man down in a TPK. Remains dumped in the underground river.

The great majority of characters I've played never "retired" - usually, the game would end because of RL reasons, and the character would just sort of stay frozen in time forever. The second biggest subset would be the prematurely dead ones...

There's really only one I can think of that qualifies:

1. Harad

2. Dwarven CN Barbarian 4/Fighter 6/Ranger 3/Exotic Weapon Master 1

3. Homebrew (run by... Ycore Rixle, I believe is the name he goes by on ENWorld)

4. The city-state of Bergholdt and its environs.

5. On an extended hunting trip to the Purple Worm breeding grounds, where people who want him to settle down, marry and accept the traditional responsibilities of a Dwarven champion can't easily reach him.

Retired from adventures and quest. Now he's a diplomat representing Evermeet. I could see him joining in on that Myth Drannor crusade. I imagine he's a top cleric and diplomat living in Myth Drannor. He probably leads it into 4th edition ;-)
