Not at all. I read it and loved exactly those elements that horrify the OP. So they're not wrong. It's just a matter of taste.

I'd say it's almost more of a matter of marketing than taste. Most of the things described in the adventure sound fine to me, just not as part of the traditional fantasy setting. If it was openly marketed as a magitech adventure it would probably be more palatable to many.

It was marketed as an anthology. There will be a variety of motifs, I am sure. To me, it makes sense to include a lot of different writers and flavours.

True but the Vault is the framing narrative and it looks like the magitech MI stuff comes from that organization so i woudn't be surprised if there was a consistency in that regard.

Similar to the brick in the Honor Among Thieves trailer. I thought the brick was the best part of the trailer.
