Tyson - big Sink
"Tyson's the name. Yeah, I grow'd up here, if anywhere." He nods towards the others in the room as if pointing them out "these guys though? I don't know. I haven't been much for listenin' till you showed up. Even elfy here didn't care once I stated my crime." indicating Tish be the "elfy".

"What did you do that was so horable Tyson?" Orb asks.

'They weren't phased by what I said I did, could his crime be so horable? Are all of these people as wrongly imprisoned as I?' she thought to herself.

Tyson

"Hmph" he thinks about what he should say, waiting for one of the others to do it for him... someone else states it was murder .. "It was self-defense" Tyson insists... Someone else says something ... "They got what was coming to them for the way they treated me after the fight, I think them guys wuz jealous is all, jealous that I was fightin for money and they wuz still roamin the alleys. I was packin a sack of gold and they were hoping they could collect some. Once I got started I couldn't stop, years of being the underdog, being kicked and picked on, it all was unleashed upon those bullies."

After that statement, he thinks about the lives he took, and whether it was worth it. Once more glance toward Orb to see her expression..

Dartan - The Big Sink, Room #1

Tyson, you are not the only one in here for murder... You are not that special

Dartan pauses for a moment.

But at least you know the truth of what you were convicted for.

Even as the last words are out of his mouth, Dartan's mind races back to the jungle he lost himself in that night. The thought that has troubled him since then comes unbidden to him mind.

Not that I don't.

In any case, Miss... Orb? Not all murderers are bad people, or want to murder everyone they meet. Besides, if any of us in here decided to kill any of the rest, well, it is more than likely that the guards would just leave the dead to rot in here. And rotting dead smell bad. So why would we do that?

"Um, that's reassuring, I guess," Orb says, not appearting to be particularly reassured by that. "And you can call me Miss Kaftan if you wish, but Orb is fine."

Orb looks to Tish and Josh for a bit more reasurance.

Josh smiles ruefully.

"This is a hard town. Fact is, before any of us landed in this cell, we were all prisoners to the oppressive life of Trenchtown. Slaves in law or just in mind. Some of us--" here he indicates himself "--find the means to peacefully express the rage and frustration that builds up. But we're fewer than we should be; Trenchtown discourages independent thought, the power of art, the joy of wordcraft."

Now Josh indicates Tyson and Dartan. "For those without other means, sometimes the only way to vent one's rage is through violence. It's a hard way to live, but it's perhaps a little more understandable in context?"

"My troupe came here to play, but it never felt right when we got here," Orb says. "Mym was nice enough to escort me here, but then... everything happened..." She trails off, not wanting to put the events togeather, though knowing in her heart what had happened.

Makh grumbled in a low growl at both Josh and Tish, for their references. Not that they were wrong of course, Makh was never a freindly character to be around at the best of times, and these were hardly the best of times. While he had time to reflect on his life and ponder all his choices, he was still stuck in this hole.

Looking up and seeing a bird above, the bugbear's stomach growled rather loudly. Boy would that critter make for something tasty just about now.

He looked over at the woman as she was telling her story and let out a loud sigh and plunked his head against the wall. Makh just did not care. Not now. They were stuck in this place, and should get used to it.
