Role playing world record

In 2003 at Origins there was an attempt to set the world record for the longest role-playing game. Does anyone know any of the people responsible for organizing it, verifying the record, or acting in any other sort of official capacity? My college science fiction club is going to try breaking the record but we need information about the current record and how to do it officially. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, the last attempt was made at Origins 2k3. If anyone remembers anyone involved - a player, a GM, an organizer, absolutely ANYONE - please let me know.

Good luck with it. According to the first link, the record *was* 84 solid hours. That's seriously stretching the capabilities of the human body. I would seriously suggest everyone involved consult their physicians first.
